- Tour of West Point Military Academy

- The Friends of Horsham Library will be hosting a trip to the US Military Academy at West Point and Highland Falls, NY. The trip includes deluxe motor coach round trip leaving the Horsham Library at 7AM and returning by about 9:30 PM. There will be a combination of bus and walking tours. Our guide will cover the history of West Point and its key role in the American Revolution as well as the prominent leadership role West Point graduates have played and continue to play in the shaping of our nation. Buffet lunch at the Thayer Hotel then a tour of the Hudson on the Pride of the Hudson, highlighting sights along the river.

- Author Visit at Horsham Township Library
- Wednesday, November 18th, 2009
- Lise Funderburg will be appearing at the Horsham Township Library Adult Book Club. Lise has been featured in Oprah Magazine, Essence, and in a host of nationally syndicated magazines and talk shows. She has extensively been traveling around the country speaking on the issues revealed in her book Pig Candy. Lise crafts a powerful story on the bittersweet journey with her terminally ill father, from Philadelphia to his beloved farm in Jasper County, Georgia. Her memoir of family, food and racial identity is flavored with succulent observations and striking home truths. We are honored to have Lise co-facilitate our book club discussion on November 18th.
Copies of Pig Candy will be available for purchase and signing.
The event is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.
