Donations to our library from "The Friends of the Horsham Library"

Our mission is to enrich the lives of our community by stimulating increased usage and enhancement of library resources and service.

We are constantly striving to expand our support of the Horsham Library by funding programs and services which might not be available if it were not for our efforts and the gifts we receive from individuals and businesses.

Donations have included:

  • Activities Display Case with Letters/Numbers for Lobby

  • Computers with internet access
  • Video Projector

  • Plexiglas Literature Display Rack for the Cafe

Your Gift to the Friends


There are many ways to contribute to "The Friends of the Horsham Library".
"The Friends of the Horsham Library" is a Not-For-Profit Organization affiliated with the Pennsylvania Citizens for Better Libraries (PCBL). Through this affiliation, "The Friends of the Horsham Library" is considered a 501(c)(3) organization by the Internal Revenue Service. The PCBL's Group Exemption Number is 3626. Donations to "The Friends" may be tax deductible as provided in section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Becoming a Member

By joining "The Friends" your tax deductible membership contribution will help us make a difference. There are also volunteer opportunities if you are interested in donating your time and talents. For more information, visit our "Become a Member" page.

Tax Deductible Gifts

Tax deductible gifts, no matter what their size, are immediately put to work. Smaller gifts help us to keep "The Friends" program running from year to year as well as fund reading programs and purchase incidentals for the Library. Larger gifts can be used for future large or capital projects. If so desired, the donors may designate how they wish their gift to be used.

To make a tax deductible gift, please write your check to "The Friends of the Horsham Library" and mail it to us at Post Office Box 736 Horsham PA. 19044. In turn, we will send you a Thank You letter which will acknowledge the amount of your gift.

Matching Gifts

Your employer or prior employer in the case of retirees, might match your gift to "The Friends". Please check with your employer's human resource website regarding it's matching gift policy and how to apply for the matching gift.

Appreciated Stocks and Securities

When making a contribution of appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, it is important to keep in mind that you should transfer the physical securities to the non-profit organization, in this case, "The Friends of the Horsham Library". By transferring the physical securities, you the donor, will retain any tax advantage you may entitled to, and at the same time, your gift will be helping "The Friends" increase its support for the Horsham Library.

If you are thinking of gifting depreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds it would be best for you to sell them and then donate the proceeds by writing a check to The Friends. In this way, you the donor, can use the capital loss from the sale of the securities for tax purposes.

By assisting "The Friends of the Horsham Library" fulfill its mission, you are helping to assure our Library will be enjoyed and cherished for many years to come.
