In
what
ways do "The Friends" contribute to the community?
Our mission is to enrich the lives of our community by stimulating
increased usage and enhancement of library resources and services. "The
Friends" have made many donations to the library.
In addition, we are constantly striving to expand our support of the
Horsham Library by funding programs and services which might not be
available if it
were not for our efforts and the gifts we receive from individuals
and businesses. "The Friends" also sponsor reading programs, author
visits and many other activities
for all ages. Some of our contributions include:
- Michael Buckley,
New York Times bestselling author of the Sisters
Grimm
- Summer Reading Programs 2008 including:
- "Bugs and the Creatures
that Eat Them" presented
by Elmwood Park Zoo
- "All Things Prehistoric" presented
by Mike Straka
- Additional
performances, prizes, promotional flyers and supplies
- "Teen Tech Week" including video gaming tournament
featuring "Dance,
Dance Revolution" for PS2 and "Air Guitar" Contest

York City theatre trips including Wicked and Beauty
and the Beast
